Terms of service

Last updated 15 July 2026

These terms cover your use of ChoreCircle. By creating an account you agree to them. They're written to be read, not skimmed past — please do read them.

What ChoreCircle is

ChoreCircle is a neighbourhood marketplace that helps people post small chores and find neighbours willing to help with them, and helps helpers find chores nearby. ChoreCircle is an intermediary only: it is not a party to any chore, employment, or payment arrangement made between members, and it is not the employer of any helper.

Who can use ChoreCircle

You must be at least 15 years old to create an account. By signing up, you confirm that you are.

ChoreCircle sets category-level age floors on the chores helpers can take, and shows age brackets rather than exact ages to other members.

If you're 13 or 14, you can't create an account yet. We'd like to open ChoreCircle to younger teens in the future, once there's enough demand and we've worked through the legal requirements involved — including guardian consent, which Finnish law requires for workers that age. You can join the waitlist from the signup page to be notified if that changes.

ChoreCircle is currently intended for use within Finland.

Members deal directly with each other

Posters and helpers on ChoreCircle are, in the ordinary case, private individuals dealing with each other directly — not businesses selling to consumers. Because of this, Finnish and EU consumer-protection law generally does not apply between a poster and a helper the way it would apply to a purchase from a business.

ChoreCircle does not set, collect, hold, or move any payment between members, and does not record the amount that changes hands. Members agree on and settle payment directly, however suits them. ChoreCircle only lets a helper confirm a chore's payment was settled, or flag that it wasn't — never an amount.

You are responsible for any tax or other legal obligations that arise from chores you post or complete, including reporting income where the law requires it.

Your account

You're responsible for the accuracy of the information on your profile and for keeping your account credentials secure. One account per person. You may not use ChoreCircle to impersonate someone else or to create a false identity.

Using the service responsibly

When using ChoreCircle you agree not to:

  • Post chores or messages that are illegal, dangerous, fraudulent, or exploitative — particularly toward minor helpers.
  • Harass, threaten, or discriminate against other members.
  • Use the service to solicit or advertise anything unrelated to arranging chore help.
  • Attempt to circumvent the platform's safety features, including age brackets and TrustLink requirements for minors.
  • Scrape, copy, or misuse other members' data beyond what the service shows you to arrange a chore.

Reports and moderation

Members can report content or other members through the in-app report tool. Reports are reviewed by an administrator, who may warn, restrict, or remove an account, or remove content, at their discretion, to keep the platform safe. We aim to act on reports promptly but can't guarantee a specific timeline.

Our designated point of contact for authorities and members on content and moderation matters is tepia94@gmail.com.

Liability — please read this carefully

ChoreCircle is provided “as is,” as a way to find and arrange chore help. We do not vet, background-check, or insure members, and we make no guarantee about the safety, quality, legality, or outcome of any chore.

ChoreCircle is not liable for injury, property damage, non-payment, disputes, or any other harm arising from a chore arrangement between members. If a chore goes wrong, that is a matter between the poster and the helper — not ChoreCircle.

Nothing in this section limits liability where it cannot legally be limited, such as liability for wilful misconduct.

Suspending or closing accounts

We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these terms, poses a safety risk, or is required by law to be removed. You can also delete your own account at any time from the account page; deletion has a 7-day grace period during which you can cancel it.

Your content

You keep ownership of what you post — profile details, chore listings, messages, and photos. By posting it, you give ChoreCircle the limited right to store and display it back to you and to the other members it's meant for, solely to run the service.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service changes. If a change is significant, we'll let members know directly rather than only updating the date above.

Governing law

These terms are governed by Finnish law. Where a dispute involves you as a consumer, you retain any protections mandatorily available to you under the law of your country of residence.
